Transformation case studies

Transformation Experience, Applied at Enterprise Scale.

Selected examples from complex enterprise transformation programmes spanning cloud, technology, digital workplace, operating model, automation and executive governance.

The examples presented here were delivered through my previous corporate leadership and transformation roles.

They demonstrate experience working across complex enterprise environments, large technology estates and business-critical transformation programmes.

They are not presented as independent DK Transformation advisory engagements.

Independent advisory outcomes will be documented separately as the practice develops.

Selected Flagship Case Studies

Three transformation programmes that demonstrate scale, complexity and measurable outcomes.

01 · GLOBAL RETAIL-CLOUD TRANSFORMATION

Global Retail-Cloud Transformation

150+ markets · 1,200+ applications · €150M programme

A large-scale hybrid-cloud transformation involving a complex business-critical application estate, global delivery and structured migration waves.

Primary outcome

80% CAPEX reduction in re-architected systems · €4M savings · Six months ahead of plan

02 · DIGITAL FOUNDATION FOR GLOBAL GROWTH

Digital Foundation for Global Growth

3 data-centre regions · 300 applications · 500 servers in scope

A cloud migration and data-centre exit across three regions, moving mission-critical SAP workloads.

Primary outcome

Data-centre exit in three regions · SAP workloads migrated · Analytics for sales and inventory

03 · ENTERPRISE DIGITAL WORKPLACE TRANSFORMATION

Enterprise Digital Workplace Transformation

2,500 devices in scope · ~1,000 desktops in the first phase

An established virtual desktop estate modernised to cloud-hosted VDI in phases, alongside an operating-system upgrade.

Primary outcome

Operating-system upgrade and VDI migration coordinated as one programme

Additional Evidence

Additional transformation experience showing how the same principles were applied across delivery systems, automation and executive workforce governance.

  1. 05

    Global Technology Services Organisation

Automation & the economics of execution

Enterprise infrastructure delivery involved significant manual effort in application deployment and operational activities.

    Outcome

    • Application deployment time reduced from 3 hours to 15 minutes
    • 65% reduction in working hours
    • 50% reduction in defects
    • Reduced manual effort
    • Improved delivery scalability

    Transformation pattern

Automation creates transformation value when it changes the economics of delivery.

    Advisory insight

Automation is not the outcome. The outcome is a delivery model that requires less effort, moves faster and produces more predictable results.

  2. 06

    Global Technology Services Organisation

From reactive reporting to executive control

On assuming the Operational Resource Management (ORM) Service Line Lead role, total bench headcount was 235 across India, Philippines, Poland and Portugal. The issue involved workforce cost exposure, bench ageing (time unassigned), release volatility, redeployment and demand/capacity alignment.

    Outcome

    • Bench headcount reduced from 235 to 23 in seven months: 212 FTE, about 90%

    Transformation pattern

Governance creates value when information becomes a decision system.

    Advisory insight

Executive control starts when leaders have a trusted view of the system, clear decision rights and a cadence that converts information into action.

Each case shows a different transformation condition, decision and execution challenge.

Together, they show the patterns behind enterprise transformation at scale.
